    About

In 2010, Hirosaki University initiated an educational program, the "Educational Program for Professionals in Radiation Emergency Medicine" to train those people who have sufficient knowledge and skills and can provide support to medical care professionals during a radiation emergency. On March 11, 2011, soon after this program was initiated, an earthquake measuring 9.0 on the Richter scale and a subsequent tsunami caused extensive damage to the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. This serious accident shocked the world, and therefore, we have a responsibility to continue efforts aimed at determining the effect of radioactivity on human beings. In order to think about radiation and human health, Hirosaki University held an education symposium (ESRAH2014) last year to discuss the young researchers each other.

This year, ESRAH2015 will be held on May 23rd-24th at Hirosaki University Graduate School of Health Sciences. There will be a young scientist poster session on Saturday, May 23rd afternoon. Young scientist posters will also be presented during the symposium. A few prizes will be awarded on Sunday, May 24th for the most outstanding contributions.
