 Message from the Chairman.

Dear friends and colleagues,

It is a great pleasure to inform all of you “the 4th Educational Symposium on Radiation and Health by Young Scientists in 2017” (ESRAH2017) will be held in Hirosaki, which is known as a culturally important city in Japan. This symposium is  mainly aimed at graduate students and young post-doctoral investigators to be an informational exchange and discussion forum on a broad range of subjects in radiation health, such as radiation effects on the environment and human body, radiation protection, radiation detection and emergency medicine, etc.

Six years have passed since the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant accident, and in some cities in Fukushima, the return of residents began in March of 2017 with the decrease in radiation doses due to decontamination. This event will require a new perspective in radiation effects when considering the health of these residents. I hope that discussions of the large fields about radiation will be actively carried out at ESRAH2017.

It is the most comfortable season in late September in Hirosaki when the symposium will be held. We warmly welcome all of you to participate in this symposium and to enjoy sightseeing around the Hirosaki city area. We look forward to meeting you at ESRAH2017.

Thank you,

Yoichiro Hosokawa
